Gerhardus Lotter
Active 1810- 1824
The son of Johannes Casparus Lotter (1737) and Johanna Catharina van Kerken, baptised at the Cape on 18 November 1764. Married Susanna Johanna Esterhuyzen on 24 August 1794. His widow is listed in the directory for 1825.
A Cape silver covered jug, Gerhardus Lotter, c.1810-1824 ovoid body, the borders engraved with wrigglework band, the domed hinged cover with ball knop finial and beak-shaped spout, the side applied with an ebonised scroll handle, raised on a square base pedestal footrim, 570g,18cm high.
