  • Description

Willem Godfried Lotter (Senior)
Active 1810- 1835
The son of Matthias Lotter and Anna Dorothea van den Berg. Baptized at the Cape on 29 September 1748. Married Helena Wilhelmina Cornelisse on 7 April 1776 and Wilhelmina Margaretha Wentzel on 15 August 1779. It seems that the same marks were used by both father and son Willem Godfried Lotter (Junior), since they appear both on pieces made to early for the son and too late for the father: therefore, these marks are attributed to both father and son.

Willem Godfried Lotter (Junior)
Active 1810- 1835
The son of Willem Godfried Lotter (Senior) and Wilhelmina Margaretha Wentzel. Married Susanna Johanna van Echten and later Maria Redelinghuis. Died on 11 December 1855 at Richmond. It seems that the same marks were used by both father Willem Godfried Lotter (Senior) and son, since they appear both on pieces made too early for the son and too late for the father: therefore, these marks are attributed to both father and son.
