Gerhardus Lotter
Active 1810- 1824
The son of Johannes Casparus Lotter (1737) and Johanna Catharina van Kerken, baptised at the Cape on 18 November 1764. Married Susanna Johanna Esterhuyzen on 24 August 1794. His widow is listed in the directory for 1825.
A Cape silver teapot, Gerhardus Lotter, 1810-1824 ovoid, the body engraved with bands of stipple and wrigglework, each side centred by a vacant cartouche, the hinged cover with a wooden finial, the side applied with a leaf-capped wooden handle, the base engraved with initials ‘HVR’, 675g, height: 14cm.
